According to the Doctoral Regulations at the end of the 2nd and 6th active sememesters (usually at the end of the first and third year) doctoral students are required to report on their research work of the previous year by submitting a signed "Annual Report" to the (secretary of) the Doctoral Shool.
In the beginning of the 2nd and 6th active sememesters doctoral students of the Doctoral School of Physics should also register the neptun courses

respectively.
(At the end of the 4th active semester (i.e. at the end of the coursework and research stage) doctoral students should take the Complex Exam, and at the end of the 8th active sememester (i.e. at the end of the research and dissertation stage) doctoral students should successfully conduct a predefense of their thesis.)
(At the end of each odd numbered active semesters doctoral students should submit only "short Semester Report").
